Second Life: Low Pimpin’

Fashions for the Linden Poor

I’ve been alive for less than a month and I’m already broke. April 13, 2007

I’m new to Second Life. Like a lot of newbies, I imagine, I’m still trying to figure the whole world out. I’ve halfheartedly tried to learn to build, been sightseeing and met some nice people. But for some reason, I’ve spent the most of my time in Second Life buying things.

Specifically clothes, hair and make-up. And lots of it.

Yes, spending $1,000L barely even registers IRL. I get that. But good Lord, I’ve been in game for maybe a total of 10 hours and I’ve already blown through about $15,000L. At that rate, I’m going to have to cancel my weekly movie & dinner dates, which will mean I’ll spend even more time in SL and more money…. you get the picture.

There’s got to be a better way.

But until then….

Last Call Drew

Dress: Drew by Last Call

I can’t even begin to say how much I love this dress. The gold detailing is shiny and perfect. The prim skirt sits low on the hip, giving a nice shape to the dress. The prims themselves are slightly sheer, kind of like those fake bath bubbles that cover actresses in films–you know, they’re waaaaaaaaay thicker than you can ever recreate in your own tub, but still frothy enough to look almost real.

The glitch pants recreate the gold detailing on the ankles, so the pretty dress isn’t ruined by big black legs as you dance, walk, or simply stand in a slight breeze, thank God.

The back has a nice deep cut, letting you show off your pretty spine (a spine someone likely spent hours shading, I might add… why cover it up?).
